Nina started on her path to interior design early in life. As a teenager Nina created custom art and room designs for friends and family. Working on minimal budgets, Nina used and reinvented garage sale furniture, and her own personal fine art, to redesign living spaces. Realizing how much she enjoyed helping others customize and upgrade their spaces, Nina chose to pursue a degree in interior design at the prestigious Harrington College of Design in Chicago, IL. Nina graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Interior Design.
During college Nina worked at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, IL where she supported two galleries showcasing custom furniture and up-and-coming artists/furniture designers. The two galleries offered a mix of modern and traditional furniture ranging from $2,000 – $30,000 per piece.
Following her love of fine art and art collecting, Nina also took a position as an art consultant at a gallery in Chicago, IL. As a fine art consultant Nina helped individual and corporate clients build their fine art collections with works from master artists, such as Picasso, Matisse, Miro, Dali, Renoir, Lautrec, Whistler and Tissot. When asked about deciding on what work of art to choose for each client, Nina responded with, “You have to love the piece and have an emotional connection with the piece. This is always more important than the price. What I love about art is that anyone, with any budget, whether $100 or $100,000, can find something they love and make it part of their home.” Nina continues to incorporate fine art in her designing today.
Nina went on to blend her art and design skills in commercial design where she took on projects in multiple industries. She designed functional office spaces, reception areas, and executive offices. Her largest project was a year long redesign of an interactive training center for a Fortune 500 company. Nina still enjoys designing functional, relaxing commercial projects, in addition to the more personal residential projects.
Nina later moved with her family to Florida, where, for several years, she honed her kitchen, bath and cabinet design skills. She rose to become one of the top designers in her organization where she earned multiple commendations for client satisfaction. With projects ranging from kitchen design for a small cabin, to large, luxury homes requiring two kitchens, Nina has successfully delivered everything from “luxury on a budget” to “simplicity for the millionaire,” on-time and on-budget. Her experience and client and peer satisfaction, allowed her to join the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) in 2011 where she remains as a member in good standing. In 2013, Nina was awarded NKBA’s “30 Design Professionals Under 30″ award for her dedication to, success in, and passion for the interior design and Kitchen and Bath industry. She has also won “Best of Houzz” for Service, and “Best of Houzz” for Design. Nina’s work and commentary has been featured on HGTV.com, capemay.com, in Cape May Magazine, KB&B Magazine, and NKBA publications.
After moving to Pennsylvania in 2011, Nina decided she wanted to offer her unique, full service design capabilities to residential and corporate clients. She is currently the President and Principal Designer at NGD Interiors, LLC. a bucks county interior design group, where she offers residential design, commercial design and fine art consulting. Nina loves what she does and brings her passion and creativity to every project. Nina currently lives in Bucks County, PA with her husband, two children, and her bevy of dogs and cats.
